Chuck Black is the author of many novels including the popular Kingdom Series and The Knights of Arrethtrae series. Each story is strong enough to stand on its own. I have 10 kids, and each of the readers enjoy the books.

Chuck Black is the author of many novels including the popular Kingdom Series and The Knights of Arrethtrae series. I have finished this series and started on the Knight series. I'm going to read all of Chuck Black's books. Also, I am starting a Bible Study for kids between ages of 7-13 and using these books for the study. At the end of each story is a list of questions for each chapter plus answers. This I believe will be a wonderful study for them. Mr. Black has taken the Bible and changed it to Medieval times and has stayed true to the Bible.

Kingdom's Quest book.

Kingdom's Series, Book 1. By: Chuck Black. Narrated by: Andy Turvey. The Kingdom Series books have really brought forth a desire to read for our reluctant reader. There is a action and adventure through the entire series. Length: 3 hrs and 45 mins. There is good and evil with the evil being bad unlike some books and movies glamorizing the bad as good. After we finished the books the audio books were a great addition and rewarding for our children to listen to.

It originated in 1995 with the novel Sabriel and has continued in the novels Lirael (2001) and Abhorsen (2003). I did not know what to expect from Chuck Black book. Biblical allegories are often lame and you get the feeling the author is trying too hard to make a point. That is not the case here. These books are fun to read. Chuck Black is the author of many novels including the popular Kingdom Series and The Knights of Arrethtrae series. Each story is strong enough to stand on its own. I have 10 kids, and each of the readers enjoy the books. Even kids who are not familiar with the different Bible stories will still be on the edge of their seats. My wife has read all of them aloud. Our children are familiar with Bible stories, and they "get" what is going on. It adds another whole level of interest as they try to link the story they are hearing with the stories they already know. But, that usually happens after each episode, since some of the segments are so tense they are completely lost in the story. Then, after reading to them we hear "Please! One more chapter!" This is a refrain I hear nearly every night.
This series of books is wonderful. We purchased the first 2 books at a homeschool convention to bring home as a gift and my 9 year old (at the time) son gobbled them up. He LOVES them and even understands the connection to what he's read in the Bible, which is really neat to hear when he explains to us what he's been reading. After a short break to finish some school assigned books he is back to this series and couldn't be happier.
book was yellowed and disgusting. smelled like it had been in a smokers home. so much for it being brand new!
My son loves this series. Great biblical allegory throughout the books. I love that there are comprehension questions in the back that include biblical verse references. I would recommend this series to others.
Was a gift for my son for Christmas, and he absolutely LOVED this book and series!
sent as a gift to a boy who loves to read story is imaginative and follows the Book of Revelation. Something like Lion Witch and the wardrobe with Biblical values.
Fabulous series my 15 year old reluctant reader loves!
Love all these books in the series!
