The text is well organized and very readable.

This is a very good introductory book on the topic. Particularly, the author did pretty well in linear vector spaces and its applications. One distinguished feature of this book is the vast amount of worked problems attached to the main text of each chapter. Make sure you study as many these problems as possible (and the better derive as many as possible yourself) -- it is an indispensable part of the book. But compared to the number of the worked problems, the main text sometimes appears to be not sufficient. The book is of some mathematical sophistication, yet it is not rigorous. It can serve as a good starting point for a motivated student to build his mathematical maturity for control theory. One shortcoming of the book is that some theories are not well explained and a motivated student may want to derive by himself to fill in the gaps. But this can be beneficial for the student.

The text is well organized and very readable. It dedicates a chapter to reviewing matrix algebra (which was much appreciated in my case, having been out of school for a number of years). I now refer to this text periodically when I encounter a control problem that lends itself to formal treatment (i.e., I have a decent model to which I can apply the tools presented in the text). This is the best book I've found on the subject.
This book was delivered new. The price is less than at Varney's. I like the paper quality. I aldo like the illustrated/solved problems or solutions to problems.
Material covered in a university higher level course. Content is a little all over the place for my taste but overall pretty good. Only thing is that the text is a little dry but with that much algebra its hard not to be.
Excellent book. It gets a little dense at times, but everything there is useful. It's a basic reference and has many exercises.
This book is not an easy read. I bought it for my state space class, but I ended up not using it. Turns out it's a lot easier to just google things than trying to learn them from reading this book. If you really want a controls book, there are plenty of better ones than this one.
The book covers the material but i feel is very vague and makes doing the problems difficult. The only saving grace is there are a bunch of sample problems at the end of the chapter. Also all questions answers are in the book so they can be checked.
The book content is quite good, but the reproduction quality of this international edition is very poor. It is so poor I will need to throw the book away and get another.
