Disappointed to find that his new job with the prestigious New York Gazette is all pap pieces and obits, 24-year-old freshman journalist Henry Parker jumps at the chance to work with the paper's top reporter on a where-are-they-now look at the scum of New York.

A Henry Parker Story. I recently published a novel called THE FURY, and in that book I introduced a storyline that will continue into my next book, THE DARKNESS. I always envisioned these two novels as bookends to one, massive story. So THE DARKNESS picks up pretty much right where THE FURY end. lmos. ou see, there’s one night in between the end of THE FURY and the beginning of THE DARKNESS.

The Fury is the fourth novel in Pinter's Henry Parker series. Jason Pinter has created a strong, compelling story with mystery that continues through the end of the boo. and beyond. Had I known this, I would probably have not had Vine ship it to me, as I haven't read the first three books in the series. It doesn't help that I also missed in my skim of the product description that the book is published by Mira, and my encounters with Mira-published novels have, to date, been entirely unsatisfactory. A perfect set up for the next chapter in the life and times of Henry Parker, a rising star in a dying profession).

THE FURY by Jason Pinter is the fourth book in the Henry Parker series. The author has published three books within a couple months and this is the first of the three. I enjoyed the book and will immediately jump into the next one: THE HUNTERS.

THE FURY opens with Henry being approached by a stranger who turns out to be blood. After a crime is committed, Henry goes coast-to-coast to unravel the crime as well as much more.

What I like most about Jason Pinter novels is the main character: Henry Parker. After finishing each book, I want to read about Henry's next encounter which means the author has won me over as a fan. The books also have a good doses of humor which usually involves Henry in one way or the other.

I do find myself reading certain parts over because I read dialogue from one character then action by another within the same paragraph and it throws me off, at times.

I've enjoyed the series and recommend you start with the first book: THE MARK.
This is another great book in a great series. I did feel a little dejected at the ending that one of the biggest questions had yet to be answered. The epilogue did add a bit to the closing and set up a great transition for the next book in the series. Unfortunately, I wish that this particular scenario had been finished in this book rather than waiting for the next one in the series to tackle the remnants of this book.

The previous three books in this series did a good job of closing out the scenario and leaving more for the next book to build on in the way of characters and I felt that was great. This book though, left the character building and the scenario hanging. For that reason I am going to deduct a star and leave this book with 4 instead of the usual five I have been giving for books in this series.
I found this book very engaging and it kept my attention very well. If you liked the previous books, I think you'll like this one as it just keeps getting better. I won't bore you with a plot summary as I know other reviewers are fond of doing that. I will say that the ending almost had me fooled into thinking one thing when the truth was something else, for a second or two. I say give it a shot because I don't think you'll regret it. Have at it! I can't wait to read the next short story and book in the series and I'll be sorry to have it be over unless and until the author writes more books in the series later.
Quite a good book.
The Fury is my favorite among all of Pinter's books. Not only is it incredibly fast paced and exciting but also, given today's economic climate, much of the plot felt very timely. The scenario painted of NYC, post economic crisis, seems feasible and realistic which made the story that much more intriguing. Can't wait for The Darkness!
Great book series!!! Looking forward to more
very good book
