Interesting textbook, good condition and amazing class. It came quick, it was in good condition too. My teacher did find a 3rd edition version online for free though, so if your class excepts 3rd ed. then for sure check online. The 3rd and 5th were SO similar too! Like the intro story is the exact same but with different names, even the same initials, I honestly think 3rd ed. Would work but verify with prof and all first
This text is a breeze to read, despite the fact that it packs a ton of information. It also doesn't try to pretend that sociology is a neat and non-political issue, it gives a political analysis from various sides on most major issues. I find this one of the most valuable parts of the book because I personally believe that a big part of the value of an education is at least being able to examine an issue from multiple sides. I guess the only downside is that so few students (that I know, anyway) actually read their textbooks.

At the end of each chapter there is a beautifully designed recap of the material laid out on a double page spread that breaks down key terms and references back to the main page. As I am using this for a strictly online class I appreciate the clarity and accessibility of this text.
I really enjoyed this book for my Sociology class. You truly get an inside view of world problems and how some of them aren't fixed in today's society. You also get a lot of terminology from the book that can further your vocabulary.
AMAZING BOOK. I had an intro to sociology class in BYU-Provo and we used this book. It is amazing how well structured this is. The information is very extensive but not wordy. It goes into a lot of different things, but it is understandable for a intro-student. I was very happy with the book. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to know what sociology is all about.
Another class.
the book was in great condition, it was super bring to read, but the seller didnt write it so 5 stars
Although this edition is relatively old now, the content within was one of the most interesting things I have ever read! The way the author has it set up is amazing and makes it really easy to follow along.
