A day after my 18th birthday I was arrested. The arrest was because I had a traffic warrant in a different court. (Failure to appear) So while paying one ticket I was arrested and had a pretty bad day.

Then as the years went forward.. Cops would pull me over. And I mean PULL ME OVER! This happened often and as I wasn't doing anything wrong.. they eventually let me go. Eventually I figured out that they were "Harassing me" because of my arrest.

Without exception.. Once a cop ran my licence.. his demeanor and attitude changed. I was a "Bad Guy"..!

I bought this book NOT because of the "Arrest Proof Yourself" PR. It was based on several of the concepts that the author brings up. One in particular is "Electronic Plantation".

What the ExFBI author is trying to say is.. Now that computer data bases are everywhere. The fact that data is cheap and kept forever these days. A stupid "Arrest" can seriously hurt you. Hey just the fact that every time you get into your car.. in the back of your mind there is some cop that WILL NOT BELIEVE YOUR STORY.. no matter what after he runs your ID! O[...] Yea.

I've read reviews about his book across the Internet. Many of them discount the damage of what an arrest can do to a "Law Biding Citizen". The funny thing is.. If you are a criminal? You don't care at all about your previous history on the computers. It's the people working their pants off only to be discriminating against for jobs.. Loans.. and as the future becomes reality.. Who knows what something like a "Technical" traffic arrest can have on your chances of living a happy life??

This book is worth much more than the sum of it's parts. It is the first time I have seen anything like "Electronic Plantation" mentioned. Justice computer records following you beyond state boarders.. etc. This aspect of the United States Justice system creates a "Scary" under class of citizens. Many times for the conduct of a child! That you will be paying on for the rest of your life. Paying and paying as "Law Enforcement" is booming business!

The author also gives you a very REAL look into what a cop is thinking. Many times while reading this book I think he is applying more "Cop Think" within the writing style to hammer the concept home even more. Oh and yea I think he is 100% right on that. And this comes from working for nearly 2 years around cops - detectives first hand.

This US dirty BIG secret!! Of how we treat our citizens needs to be talked about more.

The authors need to get with Social Commentary and Human Behaviorists authors to write a new book for the 21st century. A book that effects anybody that drives a car! (how many million is that again?)

Pollution, Economic Woes, Foreign Policy, Heath, etc.. Then there is how the American Justice system is actively creating a permanent underclass using "Officer Friendly" to ruin your life. Your kids life. Your Grand kids life. Your friends daughter's life. etc..

Buy this book. Then vote in new Politicians who will CHANGE THE SYSTEM before it's too late!
Okay, any good lawyer is going to tell you to NEVER consent to a search. The author gives these suggestions that the cop may further hassle you if you don't consent, and if you have nothing to hide to go ahead and let them. He says ultimately the choice is yours etc. What?
Never consent to an unwarranted search!
Three things to exert your rights, that were not even mentioned in this book:
"I do not answer questions without an attorney present"
"I do not consent to an unwarranted search"
"Am I being detained officer? Or am I free to go?" (Must be stated to show that the conversation is not voluntary)

The content of the book is a solid 3 stars. I deducted one star becausemykindleversioncrammedseveralparagraphstogether like so, which madeitveryhardtoread.
Does anyone not proofread the content before issuing it to the kindle store?
Here is the book in a nutshell: If the cops can't see you they can't arrest you. Duh!

The only thing I took away from this book was that when a cop pulls you over, for speeding or any other reason, they are hoping for, and looking to make an arrest. They get points for arrests, good or bad. Points get them promotions. If the case gets thrown out they keep their points. At that point you're in the system, or the "electronic plantation" as the author calls it. Because of our crummy privacy laws, once in the system, always in the system. Apparently in Europe this isn't the case and the author points that out.

This book is mostly just common sense. Save yourself $20 and go to YouTube and search for Chris Rock,"How not to get beat up by the police." It's quick and funny as hell. If you are looking for any real advice, go somewhere else because you won't find it here. Total waste of time and money.
The book could have been very good. it seems to have a lot of very useful information in it but unfortunately the Kindle version that I got is basically unreadable due to extreme grammatical errors. Many words have no spaces between them. Entire paragraphs have no spaces between the words. it's as if what ever format this was written on messed up and no one proof read the book before placing it on Amazon.

Imagine you are reading a good book but every other page you come across multiple paragraphs that look like this. Thisbookcouldhavebeenreallygoodbutthedumbpeoplewhopublisheditdidnotproofreaditatall.Nowitsjustapileofunreadablejunk.Thanksforstealingmymoney.
I'm not sure there was a lot of 'how to" in this book. But what it was truly effective at was in convincing the reader to AVOID the prospect of arrest. By this I mean it drills into your head the importance of avoiding the bad luck of attracting police attention and deliberately minimizing exposure to situations that might even randomly expose one to such attention. The author makes it clear that cops enjoy the thrill of the hunt... that's why they're cops. They are keen to hone in on even a hint of disrespect or 'bad attitude' and their evaluations are dependent on the NUMBER of arrests made each month (though that policy is denied by every department!). So, this book is truly effective in convincing the reader to not be casual about the prospect of arrest, even when bar hopping with old buddies. That arrest record, even for a mild disturbance or for puking in public is a life sentence that reduces one's prospects for optimal jobs. It's a sobering book... and worth handing to your 15 year old son, daughter or neighbor's kid.
