I am a male. I met the author several years ago at a seminar. She is sharp, focused, knowledgeable, attractive, charming, and vivacious. She is a great walking advertisement for her fitness lifestyle. So, sadly, I was somewhat disappointed in this book, thus the three stars. For women I would probably rate it much higher. For men, the book says sensible things yet doesn't feel like it "connects" very well. Of course some men will read it to better understand women. It's probably good for that.

The book is well organized and has interesting interviews with both women and men who have adopted the author's approach to preparing for a significant relationship. In addition to the advice on fitness, which is the author's specialty, there are suggestions on other lifestyle changes and techniques designed to make you feel right about yourself and prepare to find and promote a fulfilling relationship. I should add that the last chapters are an excellent summary of the material with action items for implementation.

The author not only gives a lot of seminars and trainings, but appears to attend others quite a bit. She has a distinct "New Age" approach to life and self-construction. To me it was a bit annoying, but there were still some great suggestions. For instance, I believe in the benefit of counting your blessings daily, and I loved her suggestion of keeping a "gratitude journal" recounting the things you are grateful for each day. I've tried it and it really seems to have a great effect on attitude and openness.

On the other hand, I don't think "wearing sexy lingerie" will do much for my self-image, although I can understand it for women. Although men are discussed and can benefit from some of the advice the book has an overall feel of a bunch of women discussing life improvement. Men might enjoy "overhearing" the discussion, but probably don't relate to it very well.

She outlines a step-by-step approach on how to prepare ourselves for meeting the love of our life starting with BEING the love of our life! I picked up the book thinking it was going to be all about finding the right guy but I got much more than I had bargained for. I was reminded to make myself the priority first and got clear on what I truly wanted for myself. I am having so much fun re-discovering myself first and it's made dating so much easier. Rather than morphing into who I think they want me to be, I am solid in myself and clear on what I want and don't want. JJ is an amazing motivator who practices what she preaches.
If you're looking for serious inspiration, look no further than Fit 2 Love! J.J. Flizanes's book bubbles with passion and conviction, and her advice isn't the average, run-of-the-mill "do these 10 standard exercises." Her ideas are fresh, she hits the topic from different angles and really does offer something for everyone. J.J. includes other people's experiences, which shows how her advice works practically in the real world. I am noticing a positive response within my life as a result of trying what she recommends! She shared how they worked on themselves emotionally before they committed to another. You have to learn to love yourself first. This book helps give you the tools to do just that. It was a quick easy read that I will refer back to often.
I have only skimmed the table of contents as the book just arrived, but I look forward to reading more. I would not have ordered it if I hadn't already formed a positive opinion of JJ and her brand of motivation and information.
Being married for 8 years, and having two children, can make your day-to-day life a "less than exciting" routine. Although Fit 2 Love targets single people, it applied to my personal life in so many ways. It reminded me of what's important in my home, how to get my relationship fresh and exciting, again. Most importantly, it taught me how to take care of me, so I can in turn be healthy in my personal relationships.
Fit 2 Love is an easy reading book with alot of good detailed tips on how to organize every aspect of your life!
Have and will continue to recommend to all!
I love this book because it is precise in a compact space. It is in pure layman's terms that is easy to read and easy to follow along. It is filled with great bullet points without going into technical terms. It not only covers meeting someone but applies if you are in a relationship or even married. It covers a nice blend of fitness, nutrition and relationships. I recommend this book who anyone especially if you want to start a transformation quickly and so it in a healthy manner.
