I like how Marcia Lynn Mclure has done her own take on beauty and the beast.

Only 7 left in stock (more on the way). Only 16 left in stock (more on the way). I like how Marcia Lynn Mclure has done her own take on beauty and the beast. I feel she conveyed a very believable portrayal to the reader of just how devastating a heart break can be. The main character turned into the "beast" from a broken heart, wanting revenge, and yet, who better to pick up the pieces of his broken heart than the "beauty" who broke it.

With the sea at its side, the beautiful township of Bostchelan was home to many-including the lovely Coquette de Bellamont, her three sisters, and her beloved father. In Bostchelan, Coquette knew happiness and as much contentment as a young woman whose heart had been broken years before could know. Thus, Coquette dwelt in gladness until the day her father returned from his travels with an astonishing tale to tell. Antoine de Bellamont returned from his travels by way of Roanan bearing a tale of such great adventure to hardly be believed. Further, at the center of Antoine's story loomed a man-the dark Lord of Roanan.Known for his cruel nature, heartlessness, and tendency to violence, the Lord of Roanan had accused Antoine de Bellamont of wrongdoing and demanded recompense. Antoine had promised recompense would be paid-with the hand of his youngest daughter in marriage. Thus, Coquette found herself lost, thrust onto a dark journey of her own. This journey would find her carried away to Roanan Manor-delivered into the hands of the dark and mysterious Lord of Roanan who dominated it.
This is a Beauty and the Beast re-telling, and what a great re-telling it is! The Lord of Roanan is not a beast on the outside, but a beast on the inside. He has become bitter and filled with hate after losing his love. The author did a good job of showing the struggle between beast and man within him. Coquette is beautiful inside and out. She too has lost a love, but chose to continue being the kind and good person that she is, instead of turning to bitterness. We are able to see a few things in the story from the pov of Victoria and Godfrey, the main servants. I liked seeing their loyalty to their master and their desire for his happiness, and their willingness to help it happen. I thoroughly enjoyed this book!
Ok, if you've read the product description, no offense to it's author, but it's no where near where it needs to be in describing the fantastic writing and story line of this book. I almost didn't purchase the book based on it's description, and I'm thankful I disregarded it and bought it anyway. This is honestly one of the best books I've read in a long time. The characters were fantastic, well thought out and easy to relate to. The passion was intense but nothing that made me skip pages. (Thank you.) I loved the redemptive storyline that allowed one to see how bitterness and anger can turn even beauty, into a total nightmare of a beast. I read the book three times within three days because I enjoyed it so much, then loaned it out to my sister who devoured it. So, honestly, this book is worth every penny.
i will agree with some other reviewers about the typo mistakes and about some words (adjectives, verbes) used once too often in the same scene, in the same page even.
but these flaws were in my opinion very very easily overlooked in view of the awesome plot and characters. i couldn't believe there was a book like that, the hero was what i have always dreamt a romantic hero should be. also, the love story between him and the heroine was beautilully long-standing in time and in commitment.
finally, i want to say that this story does not follow exactly in the steps of the original "beauty and the beast" story , as someone else has observed, however, i found it terribly refreshing and clever. for the beast's ugliness is in his soul and there is no other magic in the story than that of the heroine's love and devotion to him. that's why i could relate to this story.
I have just finished reading this book and I have to say that I really, really enjoyed it. It's hard to decide which book of Marcia Lynn Mclure's is my favorite, but if I had to choose one right now, I would say, "This is it!" The author has a way of sucking you into the passion with every look, touch, and kiss and I loved it!

I found the banter between the two main characters to be very real and refreshing. The way Valor struggled within himself, trying to decide whether it was worth risking another potential heart break in letting go of his hate. I read the reviews; one comment expressed their disbelief in holding a grudge against Coquette for breaking his heart, at Valor not just being happy she was back in his life. If you have ever suffered from a broken heart it is not hard to understand why the "beast" couldn't seem to let it go. Love and hate can be very close in the heart. Hate is usually just hiding hurt and pain, just like with Valor.

If you want a passionate, clean book that can be read in less than a day, want to read a book where every touch is fantastic...then this book is for you!
It's so refreshing to be able to find an author that can get your heart pumping without undermining the romance of her novels with graphically written sex scenes. If you need more "exchanged" than a few delicious, passionate kisses, then sadly, this book is not for you.
what a great Book..I read over 1000 romance books over time..mostly Historical and Paranormal romance..So sometimes it is hard for me to find a good book to read.... I got this as a free book from Amazon for my Kindle...with free books u never know what u will get...but I'm willing to try new Authors...I read good ones and not so good ones.....this will be a keeper..well done..give it a try ..u will love it..I will read more books from this Author..
This story was beautiful! I love the characters and how the author made me feel exactly like the characters did...confused, tortured, and in love. Now, I will admit she uses a lot of words too much, like undone, and moisture, and bosom, but if you think about the way she wrote the dialouge, you have to give her credit for trying to keep it all sounding old fashioned and romantic. I seriously loved reading how Valor learn to love Coquette and forgive her for some small mistake, how Coquette learned to see her family's true side, and how they always had a very important moment or fight whenever they recieved a letter from Elise or her father. They needed that second villian because Valor needed a reason to let her go and find out his true feelings for Coquette. I've read a lot of books in my short life, so I understand what the other reviews are talking about. If you're considering buying this book; it's worth finding out if you liked or not. I honestly think that you'll get lost in reading the kisses like I did.
I have read this book three times . To be honest probably more than that I love the author's writing style . I love this twist on classic fairytale everyone should own this book
Valor is a great name for our hero. He was shut down early on in his love for our heroine, and became super bitter and harsh, but still had the heart for his heroine. I didn't really see the Beauty and the Beast element. There was more than one "bad guy" and lots of betrayal. Clean read - 8th grade and up.
