When it came to the McKettricks, Sierra had no opinions that she could honestly claim, because she didn't know these people, except by reputation. Linda Lael Miller has a way with words and when she wrote the McKetttrick series and included Sierra's Homecoming, it just tied the whole family together. I enjoyed reading the book immensely and look forward to more from this series if she is willing to continue with it. It is a very vivid adaptation of life on the ranch from the 1800's to present. I never did until I read these books.

I have to say this was a great story. I particularly like the way this story unfolded. It took the history of the McKettrick's from the past of Doss and Hannah and the present of Sierra and Travis and did them as a side by side. Showing the similarity of the two sets of lovers and unraveling the present of Sierra and Travis's love story.

I found the entire story enchanting. It was like a glimpse of the lives lived in the house and the present of those now there, told as if they were occurring at the same time. I thought the concept of the children being able to see each when the adults couldn't until on fateful storm was really a great rendering. Children often are way more sensitive and perceptive than adults and this story used that to the max.

I can't think that anyone could not like this story. My advise to buy, and to read with an open mind and allow the possibilities to unfold in this rather unorthodox telling of the McKettricks.

Two stories in one, this tale provides the linkage between previous McKettrick's and the current crop, including Eve's daughter, kidnapped by her estranged husband and aching for the mother she never had after age two.

Teapots move, as do remembrance books and journals, and each of their sons see the other, in spite of the doubts of mother Hannah (circa 1919) and mother Sierra (circa 2007).

An intriguing way to weave two stories into one.
This book was the most difficult to obtain in the series.
this is the first book of ms. miller's that i haven't finished and i have read a lot of them. it jumps back and forth from present day to the 1900's. i couldn't keep things straight enough for me that i wanted to have keep switching my thought process. i am sure if something like this wouldn't bother you it would be a great book. all of her books are great. i just didn't like this jumping back and forth.
Great read, especially if you loved ole Angus and his brood...we got to revisit a few of those characters as well as meet the extended family. I liked the parallel worlds...great read...I really, really hope there will be more like this. I love to see how Jeb's, Cade's, Rafe's, & Colt's kids & grandkids are doing. And I really, really want to read Katie's story.
Not very exciting - sort of like every day living. I had a literature teacher who taught "if you start a book, always finish it" and I do. If I put it down, I will at some point come back and finish it. That's what I did with Sierrra's Homecomming. I have enjoyed many of Miller's books.
Sierra finds herself and her son on the Triple M Ranch, meeting the handsome caretaker, Travis Reid. As the days pass by, her son tells her he is seeing a boy in his room. Then Sierra discovers items mysteriously disappearing. In 1919, Harrah McKettrick and her son live on the Triple Ranch and discover that they may not be the only ones living in the house. This is an interesting `time travel' twist of a story. I found it very fun and enjoyable. It only took me 2 days to read the book. If you loved the previous books on the McKettricks, you will love this one.
