Stieg Larsson was comfortably among the most commercially successful writers of the first decade of the 21st century, albeit posthumously. In the course of the sprawling, politically charged, violent epic that is The Millennium Trilogy, Larsson invites us to gaze at the sexually polymorphous, much-abused heroine Lisbeth Salander. Courtesy of the writer's British publisher, we are given several fascinating insights into Larsson's non-fiction writings; they may not settle such arguments, but give the reader his authentic voice as a journalist (and even his skills in this area have been disputed in very public fashion since his death).

The Expo Files: Articles by the Crusading Journalist.

With an introduction by Tariq Ali. Now almost exclusively known as the author of the bestselling Trilogy, as a professional journalist Stieg Larsson was an untiring crusader for democracy and equality. As a reporter and editor-in-chief on the journal Expo he researched the extreme right both in Sweden and at an international level. Collected here for the first time are essays and articles on right-wing extremism and racism, on violence against women and women's rights, on homophobia and honour killings. Included also is an account written for Vagabond magazine of his travels aboard the Trans-Siberian Express from Moscow to Beijing. His most important writings - perceptive, learned and committed texts - illustrate the breadth of his journalistic and political activities in connection with matters that were closest to his heart, and to which he devoted his life. Despite death threats and financial difficulties, Larsson never ceased to fight for and write about his most firmly held principles; it was his commitment to these which gave his best-selling novels their explosive force.
This book cannot be compared with the Millenium Series. It is rather heavy and indicative of the strong feelings held by Stieg Larsson in life. You have to respect these views and wish that Larsson had had more time to write.
Constant theme against oppressors, be they Neo Nazis or anti LGBT. Well and logical essays.
I have never before seen or read so many reports and articles on Swedish affairs gathered together in one volume. The Expo Files is therefore very informative for Indian readers like me who are poorly informed on Swedish matters, both political and social. In Indian national newspapers, not to speak of provincial newspapers and journals in the vernacular, Swedish developments do not get extensive coverage for understandable reasons. Only when there is an election in Sweden or an assassination like that of Olaf Palme does Sweden get some coverage.
Together with the preface by Daniel Poohl and Introduction by Tariq Ali The Expo Files makes an excellent read.
Now I would like to know if there has been rebuttal of Larsson's criticism of racial prejudices against immigrants,so-called Swedish chauvinism and his views on women's rights'.
Not interesting
telling it like it is. the story of deliberate destruction.
