Your coffee table won’t be complete without it.
This owl book is great. I I have several of Stan's books, and they are all good. Have almost worn the books out I reference them so many times. This one is for my niece, that is almost nine years old and is fascinated with birds, but especially the owls.
The photos and narrative are excellent. However, I was going to give it as a gift but it was not packaged securely with my other book purchase and arrived damaged. Front cover is dented thru to the white paper backing, back cover near binding is torn. Also, something must have been on the printer because every few pages has a black mark smudge on the white background of the photos. Definitely not gift quality. Don't want to spend the money to exchange it. I think it must have gotten caught in the post office machine.
Want to know more about owls? This is your book.
The pictures are beautiful and the text well written
Like every Stan Tekiela book I've read, this is informative without being hopelessly pedantic. Good, solid information has never been so accessible.
This is a wonderful book to treasure forever. The images are spectacular and I only wish that they were larger.
Fascinating.
I love owls and gave this to my guy friend who also loves them. Very pretty book. I recommend it.
A book containing images obtained by baiting owls is worthless.

Baiting owls is not only dangerous to the birds, it's an unethical practice that puts the photographer and his ego above that of the bird. The first rule of wildlife photography is to respect the animal. You do that by keeping your distance, limiting your time and in no way endangering the animal. All of these principles were violated in this book and it is a shameful example of how wildlife photography should never be done.

I've been photographing birds for nearly 40 years and observing them far longer than that. Baiting is inconceivable to me and to a number of other photographers whose work I respect but the photographer in this book cannot be respected.
