This is a good book that will teach you one possible approach to carving a rose. The book is old (from 1993), so most of the pictures are in black & white which is not optimal. Still its value resides in that it takes you step by step into a finished wooden rose.

His approach is both suitable for power tools (rotary tools) as well as hand tools( gauge, V-tools,etc).

The book is targeted at beginner and intermediate carvers. My opinion is that you get value for money with this book.
