Pierre Bergé at the Yves Saint Laurent Foundation in Paris. Sitting across from a Warhol portrait of a pensive Saint Laurent, Mr. Bergé, perfectly turned out in a charcoal gray wool suit a bit too heavy for the sunny day, exhibited his usual buttoned-up sort of personality. As he spoke, though, Mr. Bergé began to soften, expanding far beyond where the film goes on the painful consequences of Saint Laurent’s struggle with depression. Continue reading the main story.

A game of modesty, the contrast between old and new, the boom of a soundtrack, a light bulb, the delicate exercise of the feminine form’, is a snippet of Kym Ellery‘s exposition of her latest collection at Paris Fall 2016. Since its establishment in the 1960s by the designer and Pierre Bergé, the Yves Saint Laurent haute couture house has redefined femininity, creating arguably the most famous (and sexiest) suit for women, “Le Smoking” tuxedo, and innovative collections with names such as Pop Art, Ballet Russes, and Picasso. This retrospective book is the first to cover the forty years of Yves Saint Laurent and highlights the inventive character of the designer’s work. Over 160 of his finest designs and accessories, all taken from the Fondation Pierre Bergé–Yves Saint Laurent collection, are presented. The book is the companion volume to an exhibition that will travel to The Montreal Museum of Fine Art and the de Young Museum in San Francisco.
Item was just as described and in great conditions. Great Seller. Very Please. Thank you.
Nice table book, package well. Would recommend.
If you love vintage YSL you will love this. I do.
great large size
I saw this show at the deYoung museum in SF and it was fabulous. Had to have this catalogue. I have loved Yves for years and was lucky enough to attend several fashion shows in San Francisco. He was a desinger like no other. His clothes are as wearable today as they were 20 years ago wish I had more of them.
Great coffee table book. Very chic!
Expected more content and better photos, but I live the color of the cover
I don't care too much for what's inside the book. I primarily purchased with as decor. I was worried when I saw it was a paper back, but it is not cheap paper. I love the color and it looks great in my collection of fashion books! only 4 stars for content. 5 stars for appearance! Depends what you're looking for when purchasing it.
