John C. Jacob (1936 – 11 October 2008) was one of the pioneers of the environmental movement in Kerala, India. John Jacob was born at Nattakam in Kottayam.

John P. Jacob (born 1957) is an American writer and curator. He grew up in Italy and Venezuela, graduated from the Collegiate School (1975) in New York City, and studied at the University of Chicago before earning a BA in Human Ecology from the College of the Atlantic (1981) and an MA in Art History from Indiana University (1994). John Jacob began his career as an artist, working with reproductive media including photography, Xerography, rubber-stamps, mail-art, and artist's books.

John Jacob Niles (April 28, 1892 – March 1, 1980) was an American composer, singer, and collector of traditional ballads. Called the "Dean of American Balladeers", Niles was an important influence on the American folk music revival of the 1950s and 1960s, with Joan Baez, Burl Ives, Peter, Paul and Mary, and Bob Dylan, among others, recording his songs. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Niles learned music theory from his mother, and began writing down folk music as a teenager.
