THE BEDSIDE companion of this book should be J. Patrick Wright's On a Clear Day You Can See General Motors. The message of that particular work is that General Motors, which was not dominated by any single personality in the last 30 years, thereby got itself into trouble through a gray, bureaucratic state of mind that ignored the need for safer, cleaner, smaller cars.

John DeLorean was good.
DeLorean certainly forecast the coming bankruptcy of GM in this book. For anyone fascinated by automobile production, this is a good read. Given DeLorean's managerial insights, the book is almost a managerial textbook, but it reads like a novel.
Doesn't play well with others. His ego got the best of him and he left a wealth-making job.
If you love cars and are interested in the auto industrie's history, you will love this book. Great insight into John Delorean's rise through the ranks at GM. Also other Icons, such as Harley Earl are in the book. A must read for car enthusiast.
Clearly, DeLorean is one of the more intriguing figures of the post-War auto industry. At this point, he's at the top of the game and quite in love with himself. The book provides a great backboard for someone trying to understand his later foibles.
Good Book
Informative
Everyone in business should read this book. It really gives insight into corporate America. I read it originally when I was in graduate school and have never forgotten it. It ranks right up there with Ayn Rand.
