A paper book for beginning readers.
I purchased this for my 2 year old. It has quickly become the go-to bedtime story. The pictures are of course, vibrant and adorable. My animal loving 6 year old love looking at the last page where the list of animals are and flipping back and forth to name them. Would buy again!
What a precious gift! Who would ever guess that their Grandmother would buy them a Sloth?!!! I bought an Eric Carle book about the Slow Sloth to accompany this precious critter! I saw my first Sloth at the Sacramento Zoo about 15 years ago and fell in love! There is an adorable show on the TLC channel about a family with a wildlife sanctuary of sorts inside and outside of their home back east. They recently acquired/adopted a Sloth whom you can see hanging here and there all around their house!!! They are beautiful critters with eyes to their souls! Adopt a Sloth!
Great quality, colors are vivid and bright. Perfect gift, great story and meaning behind it. I love the meaning behind it , to take your time and don’t worry what others may think. Do you!!! Teaching this lesson to your child should be a must! Get it, you and your child will love it.
Wonderful for SLOW reading, with colorful artwork of Eric Carle. One can truly enjoy the sound of the words, and the artwork showing different animals of the jungle. Calming; slows things down for young children. And all the rest of us!
I love sloths. Its a sweet story. The sloth is just hanging out and people are calling it lazy and hes like nah Im just a little slow, because thats the way I am. Sends a message about acceptance and not being judgmental of people (or animals) that are different from you. Everyone does things in their own way, the sloths way is just slowly slowly slowly. So cute! I love the illustrations but i think that goes with out saying as he seems to be known for the way his books are beautifully illustrated.
We got this from the library and liked it so much I purchased on Amazon. Very colorful and vivid drawings of several kinds of jobs jungle animals, many of which I was not familiar with before reading this book to my 2 yr old son. He and I especially like the last 2 pages in which all the animals depicted in the story are drawn and labeled in one great menagerie. Without this "key" to the animals, I would not know what 1/2 of them are. Very informative even for an adult.
We love this book. Eric Carle books are always beautifully done and this one is no exception. All the animals are bugging the sloth because he is so slow but in the end we realize the sloth has it all right because he is taking the time to enjoy life. A great lesson for the kiddos
This is my absolute favorite Eric Carle book by far! My kids have their own favorites but this is a great book. The sloth might take his time and think things over much more thoroughly than his acquaintances would prefer, but when he does answer, his answer is very thorough. We could all take a lesson from the sloth in this fast paced world. Slow down and take time to think!
