The Civil War letters of Brandt Badger, a lonesome soldier in Cavalry Company D, Waul's Texas Legion
This little bit of history filled in lots of gaps in our family history because Brandt Badger was my great grandfather's brother. To read about the anticipation and anxious worry about his situation and his wife was just heartbreaking and poignant. The story of his father dying on the trudge home was just so sad and probably the same tale of many other families in the Civil War. I love this book, but then again, it is personal for me.
Letters written by my great great grandfather during the civil war. Loved d it!
