This was an interesting look into Hillary's life up to the mid 1990's. The book was just published before President Bill Clinton's re-election in 1996. Still it was able to foreshadow that Hillary would one day run for President. It paints a picture of her being heavily involved in her husband's political rise to the Presidency(for better or worse). Even then there were broiled in controversy's that although never technically caught in wrong doing(besides Monica Lewinsky) the multitude of events gave the impression of wrong doing or at least to make them seem sketchy. This reputation has given their opponents fuel for decades and even to her latest run for President.

This was a gift. Recipient seemed to like it though.

This is the highly-researched story of a very bright, driven, hard-working woman who hitched her political ambitions to the rising star that was Bill Clinton. The author manages to sympathetically portray a power couple who are so arrogantly sure that they know America's greater good that they can justify using questionable means to achieve it--although the author concludes that it is Bill Clinton who uses questionable practices and relies on his wife to clean up his messes. There may, indeed, be a "vast right-wing conspiracy" against the Clintons, but they do not help themselves with their conduct--including, most recently, the charging by the former Secretary of State of obscenely lucrative speaking fees. I wish I could feel more empathy for this woman who may well be our first female President, and Obeosh her well, but I don't believe she's entitled to claim the moral high ground.

Changed me from a Hillary hater to a Hillary admirer. Powerful book that debunks much of the rights hatred for this woman and her mission to make this country a better place for average Americans
