This work of nonfiction is excellent. Anyone interested in the RAF and even moreso in British POW activities will find Boldness Be My Friend a captivating read.
I first read this book many years ago, after my dad returned from this war, I certainly enjoyed it again, this man writes a story of courage and determination as he fronts each step towards gaining his freedom once more, the story is factual, true and holdsf the readers attention.,, a good writer, a good story.
Taken on a journey with courageous men and women. As a granddaughter of an Australian soldier and POW from WWI, it was important to see things from the eyes of a fellow POW (regardless of which war), and understand their conviction, humility and courage for our freedom. Thank you for sharing
This is a true story of a man with an inbuilt belief in his country, what it is fighting for and an almost unbelievable spirit that no one, not even the vilest of humanity can conquer. I recommend this as a must read for those wishing to understand the kind of spirit that drove such men as Richard Pape in WW2
Well written by a brave man. Whatever the critics say about the truth of it it is still a great read.

I found it really instresting to read as it is a world war 2 escape story and it has plenty of action
I read to my elderly dad (91 yr old) who can no longer see to read, he loved this as he can relate to the story and it is well told.
Richard Pape's book is an amazing story of fortitude and courage? He was in the same POW camacho as my dad - so reading this has been especially poignant for me.
