Carrie MacGregor, yearbook entry, 1999 Flynn looked at Carrie’s hand dangling from her arm at a very unnatural angle, her wrist ballooning like a puff adder. Nausea crowded her throat. and she feared her knees might crumple right out from underneath her. Don’t panic. Carrie needs you. Let’s get you to the hospital. She forced a smile, tried to look calm and cool, as she’d done many times in emergency situations. Flynn slipped an arm around Carrie’s waist and tried to lever her up off the ground. Tears sprang to her sister’s.

First, I did read the books in this series out of order. I started with the third book (The First Love Cookie Club) and then read all of the "cookie club" books as well as a few from her other series. I really REALLY liked all of thse books and felt that I should go back and start this series from the beginning. I hate to say it but if I had started with this book I would not have read any of the others. This is not what I have come to expect from Lori Wilde. The book was totally predictable, cliche and even a bit lame. The issues that kept Jesse and Flynn apart are never really resolved. That is until the very end when they both just agree to forgive each other. The issues are never discussed or resolved. The main issue that kept them apart BEAU is handled in a totally unrealistic manner. He never would have given up that easily or cleanly. I found the ending poorly done and after reading and enjoying many of Wilde's other books I was very disappointed with this one.
I've read several other fiction books on knitting and their clubs. Generally these are about the club and the members which I thought this one might be too because of the title. But it turns out that Flynn doesn't knit, she only pretends to because of her mother. And the club is only mentioned as a part of Flynn's life, there is a lot more of the romance story than anything else. In my opinion this book shouldn't have the knitting club name in the title because it is misleading.

The premise of the story is interesting and I wanted to watch it unfold and see it to the inevitable conclusion. But after halfway through, the story seemed to keep repeating the same thing - Flynn mistrusts Jesse, Beau steps in, but then Flynn can't resist Jesse's charms. The characters were not very developed and this needed a little more interest than the romantic angst to keep it going for my taste.

However, if you want a light romance and enjoy reading about relationship struggles, you'll like this story.
Flynn and Jesse's story is a good read although it moves a little slow at times. Flynn, the leader of the Knitting Club doesn't knit but keeps it going as a tribute to her mother and also fulfills her Mother's wish by opening a yarn store. Twilight Texas is a nice place to visit and I plan to read more books in this series.
Just like the other books that I have read by this author, I have to admit that I was hooked on this story and the characters right away. There were even quite a few twists and turns that happened every time I thought I was figuring the whole story out. And I was definitely on the edge of my seat up until the very end of the story.
I absolutely loved the closeness of all the characters in the story and how they all had their own story to tell also

I am looking forward to reading all the other stories in the Twilight, Texas series by Lori Wilde. Once you start reading her stories, you want more!!
Even though I didn't read this book first like I should of I truly enjoyed reading. I have become a fan of Twilight Texas I have 2 books to read and I know I will enjoy them. From the start of this book through The true love quilting club to all The first love cookie club 5 books and The welcome home garden club. I hope that they will take you away like they did for me. I'm not one to tell you what happens in the books but I will tell you that they have excitement happiness love and heartache mystery and a little bit of heat.
This was the first book I have read by Lori Wilde but will not be the last. This was a really good story. I have never started rooting for the hero so quickly. The story was not slow in any way. I did't want to put the book down. Lori Wilde's writing is similar to Susan Mallery. Without giving too much away I was laughing so much when Jesse and Flynn were in the ER with her sister. I am looking forward to checking out some more of her titles including the next one in this series. Only draw back is that it is with Harper Collins and they are part of the reason for the higher e-book prices. Still a 5 star book.
The writing was acceptable, the plot was believable, an easy to read little romance novel, even though a bit predictable. I was pleased to see they kept the "knitting" involvement going throughout the novel, although a lot of the females characters had rather shallow motivations, which bugs me in plotlines, but not a bad read. I put this a bit below Sandra Dallas' character developments, but still didn't feel I was wasting time or money on it.
The story of a woman looking for fame and love. When her mother left her, of course six year old Emma thought it was her fault. But her mama gave her a star broache and told her she was a star. Emma lived for the time she could go to New York and prove on Broadway that she was a star. After twelve years it had not happen yet. The opportunity for her to return to Twilight, Texas, where she had lived one year as a young teen-ager. She remet veterinarian, Dr. Sam Cheek, and they immediately fell in love but tried to deny it because Emma was still looking for fame. Dr. Cheek has four year old who has not spoken since his mother died. That part of the story is lovely. Emma and Sam immediately have passionate thoughts and soon jump into bed. Maybe some people like that but I don't. Way too much detail about their sexual encounters for me.
