She Dreamed of Finding Mr. Right Margaret Call me Meg McKenzie Cooper will do anything to make her children's dreams for a daddy come true-even if it means accepting a stranger's outrageous marriage proposal. Only she hadn't counted on the man's brother being the dangerously sexy Parker Ponthier-or that making her children's dreams come true would mean risking her heart.

Parker tasted the words again as he watched Gus chow down on not one but two double cheeseburgers. Meg had done justice to one of the chef salads in a plastic to-go box.

Parker tasted the words again as he watched Gus chow down on not one but two double cheeseburgers n a McDonald's for more years than he could remember, tried to appreciate his chicken sandwich but found it fairly unpalatable. Maybe that had more to do with Gus's at routine at the mention of chicken than the cook at McDonald's, though.

This book started off well and for the first 1/3, I found it easy to read. North gives us an engaging story up to that point and a heroine that is easy to relate to. Her sleepwalking also made her.

She Dreamed of Finding Mr. Right

Margaret "Call me Meg" McKenzie Cooper will do anything to make her children's dreams for a daddy come true-even if it means accepting a stranger's outrageous marriage proposal. Only she hadn't counted on the man's brother being the dangerously sexy Parker Ponthier-or that making her children's dreams come true would mean risking her heart.

Could This Dream Come True?

Any woman between eight and eighty would kill to flaunt Parker's heirloom diamond engagement ring. The New Orleans millionaire doesn't want someone who's after his bank account-he's looking for a lifetime of love. Meg is warm, passionate, and sets his soul on fire. But while his instincts warn him that she's nothing but trouble with a capital "T," Parker decides that for once in his life he's going to follow his heart.

Upon first sight of Meg, he mistakes her for a Hooker. But how can Meg explain to him the reason why she married his brother Jules. He is still convinced the woman is up to no good. Will he realize the reasons why Meg married his brother was good intentions for her family. Her first husband Ted had died leaving her in debt. But with Jules dead she is ready to head home with the money she was already paid and reuniting with her children. But will other circumstances delay her return home? This was a heartwarming story and well written romance. I would definitely consider reading more from this author in the future.
I enjoy this writer as she writes about New Orleans. She is smart and funny. I don't usually like romances, but hers are special.
Cute story.
Meg McKenzie is at the end of her rope when Jules Ponthier, the scion of a wealthy New Orleans family, offers to pay her $30,000 to marry him long enough to use her spousal vote for a company buyout. A financially strapped widow with three children, faced with an offer she can't refuse, there's nothing to it, Meg thinks, until Jules dies within hours of their marriage from a drug deal gone wrong, leaving her to deal with his brother, Parker, the responsible Ponthier, who's convinced she's a gold digger and a prostitute. He thinks the irresponsible Jules has married, without the benefits of a pre-nuptial agreement.

Meg just wants to go home to her children, but the Ponthiers have other plans. Soon Meg finds herself traveling with Parker to pick up Jules' 10 year old son, Gus, whose grief makes her want to help him in any way she can. Jules' Grandfather, Augie Ponthier, is the crafty and sly family patriarch, who also turns out to be quite the matchmaker. He secretly flies Meg's three children and their babysitter to the family home, further muddying the waters.

This witty, delightful tale makes for an enjoyable read and should generate new fans for Hailey North. The secondary characters are a very lively addition to the story. The neurotic mother, the sly family patriarch, the family Dr., and the kids! What an "uppity" and snobbish family! Meg works her magic, and turns them all around. The great chemistry between Meg and Parker sizzles throughout this book.

Reminiscent of those fluffy Doris Day-Rock Hudson romantic comedies of the late 1950s and early 1960s will delight in this book. A+
This was a very sweet read and I enjoyed it very much. The only complaint I have is that at times the book felt rushed and conclusions were drawn to fast.
Margaret "call me Meg" McKenzie Cooper was left in finacial straights after her husband died. With three kids to take care of she does what she can to make ends meet. This is where Jules Ponthier comes in. He will pay Meg $10,000.00 if she will marry him and help him in a finacial deal his family is working on. Only problem is after Jules takes her to New Orleans to met this family he gets himself killed. Now Meg finds herself in even deeper waters because Jules brother Parker does not like or trust Meg. He thinks that she is like all of the other ladies in town only interested in the money not the family.
Parker has always taken care of his older brother. This has not been an easy task for him. On top of that his mother is neurotic, the family dr. is too close, his grandfather is to cranky, and his aunt is well...too much period. When he meets his sister-in-law his first impression was WOW! Then he makes himself believe that she is just a fortune hunter and nothing more. That is the case until he spends time with her. Meg shows him how important family is, and that the life he has denied himself could be his for the taking. Only problem is he wants Meg as part of the package, and Meg is set on going back home to Las Vegas. How do these two different people get together? Basically it is through love and understanding.
Like I stated earlier this was a sweet read but rushed at times. Still there was great chemistry between Meg and Parker, great laughs, and of course the happy ending. Ms. North is a very talented author and I look forward to reading more of her stories.
While hokey and seemingly unpromising at first, once Meg settles into the Ponthier mansion and begins to work her magic on the uptight and snobbish family, the story gains significant depth. As Parker's heart starts to thaw, the attraction between the two sizzles off the pages. However, the story is about so much more than romantic love and sex. This is a story of parental love too. Meg's interaction with Jules's young son and her own kids is very touching, and is the basis for the family opening their hearts and accepting her, and for Parker falling in love with her, and becoming a good parent himself!
I actually thought this was a pretty good book, though it was slow getting started. I was constantly wondering how everything was going to work out. It's an easy read with enough twists to make it interesting. The front cover does boast that it's "fast and funny". I don't remember anything particularly funny about the book, so if you're looking for a good laugh, this is not it, but it is a nice, light book if you just want to read something for once where there's not something terrible happening. It is a great romance read with some nice erotic scenes as well.
Margaret "Call Me Meg" McKenzie Cooper had come to New Orleans to settle the affairs of the recently deceased husband Jules Ponthier. Sounds easy, right? Wrong! Meg didn't think she'd be so involved with the Ponthier family or Jules's younger brother Parker. Once again, it's laugh out loud fun. Take an unsuspecting widow, one sexy, good-looking brother, mix with a precocious child, throw in cousins and grandparents, and you'll have a recipe for one hilarious gumbo! Laissez les bons temps rouler! (Let the good times roll.)
