I have lived in Michigan all of my 70 years and I learned so much from this book. The 70 stories are well written. This book isn't just about ghosts and hauntings, but all sorts of mysterious happenings that have occured across Michigan. They writer does not gloss over any event or occurrance. He lays the facts out before the reader and the reader can draw their own conclusions. I love ghost stories, but it was cool to read the other stories in this, such as the one that may or may not have been spontaneous human combustion. Excellent book, and I recommend anyone who enjoys these stories that lives in the state of Michigan read this book.

I think this book could have been more if the author tired. Somewhat informative but short on details. The author's intro before each new subject group of stories was boring. A good book to pass around to friends, but not one to keep on the shelf for later reading. All around, a good read.
Being born and bread in Michigan this book covers all the great mysteries of our great state. This is a must read for Michaganders!
This is a great little book to read when on vacation in Michigan. Good, fun, easy reading.
This book is an easy read - the stories are not lengthy. They are entertaining. They do however lack depth, seem lacking in some details.
This book is one you won't be able to put down! If you like Ghosts, Paranormal, and a host of other unexplained mysteries...you will love this book especially if Michigan is home to you. Be sure you're not alone when you start your journey into the pages of this book. Author Gary Barfknect, in an interview I conducted with him while writing this book, explained the painstaking research that was involved in documenting the accounts he relays. One specific story about the Watersmeet Lights (aka PAULDING LIGHTS) I, after reading the book, experienced myself....incredable!

Read this book as a young teenager- 11 years later, I still remember this book and how it gave me chills, no matter how many times I read through it! Spent hours trying to remember the name but SO worth the two hour online search for it. Buying again, seeing as hoe my last copy was lost. Best!
