Start by marking Get Dressed, Robbie/Habille-Toi, Robbie (I Can Read Series) . I've just started and am using Spanish/English picture books to augment my learning. This is the second book I've read of this series. The story is quick, simple, and quite engaging.

I've just started and am using Spanish/English picture books to augment my learning. It is repetitive which greatly helps with my Spanish acquisition. The downside of this book is that I found its cover to be off putting. I'd avoided this series initially because its cover didnt accurately depict the books contents. But, once I started to read the book, I was hooked.

Get Dressed Robbie: Habille-toi, Robbie (I Can Read French .  . The book recommends itself for ages 3+. I’m reading it to a much younger child and I have been reading this for a while. Lone Morton. I doubt it will have much effect on her English vocabulary, and she’s not really exposed to enough French to make much of an impact, but I’m sure she’s picked up a few words (at her age banana’s are narna’s anyway). The words learnt are a great blend of the everyday (sad – triste; happy – heureux/heureuse; I want a – je veux un) and the unusual (hyena – la hyènes ; tiger – le tigre).

Great book for children
I just finished this book and tape with my boys, four and 2 1/2. I'm a Spanish teacher, and author of Flip Flop Spanish: Ages 3-5: Level 1 &Flip Flop Spanish: Ages 3-5: Level 2, so I'm always looking for good teaching resources. The tape is nice and clear. Side A has the book read in order - English phrase, Spanish phrase. Side B has the book read in English entirely, then in Spanish.

It has a picture glossary in the back as well, with pronunciation guide. A great way to change things up - My children were very interested in pushing the play and stop buttons on the recorder, but the four year old did notice vocabulary from his Flip Flop Workbook, and was pleased to listen and follow along in both English and Spanish. The 2 year old...well, let's just say we'll try again in a year or so with him. He likes to DO things I say in Spanish. Sitting is not his forte, but I was happy they heard someones else's voice in Spanish, and it was a story, not just vocabulary words.
