Just read to my boys in our homeschool for Bible Truths Grade 1 BJU Press Homeschool curriculum. The story was very engaging. It presented the life of Adoniram Judson. My boys loved it!
The writing, as indicated on the cover, is for youth. I'm not sure if they would like the old style writing, but the message is truth. Adoniram Judson whet where others wouldn't at the expense of personal safety and comfort. He made important inroads for the Gospel in Burma. It's an example and model for each one of us.
Wonderful book about the faithfulness of God and mission work of Adoniram Judson in Burma.
Easy read for a child and adult (1st grade level)
easy reading like a middle school book, but very good I liked its style of simplicity and novel style ..
I'm a first grade teacher and I read this book to my class every year (I work in a Christian school). My students love it and always complain when I put down the book each day. They always want me to read "just one more chapter"! :) I am now buying this book for a friend who was looking for a good biography to read to her 7 year-old granddaughter. I know the suggested age is older, but with me reading out loud, my students eagerly soak up the story. I think it's completely age appropriate. It creates great conversations as we discuss the sacrifices Adoniram made. As an adult, my life has been impacted my Adoniram's life. I highly recommend this book!
My son read this after checking it out in his school's library. He loved it so much that that he asked for a copy of his own. He reads a few chapters every night. He is 7.
