Despite this, there remains a paucity of critical academic literature on the subject, and relatively little is known about how employee engagement can be influenced by management. This paper considers the relationship between employee voice and employee engagement. Mark Gatenby, Chris Rees, Catherine Truss, Kerstin Alfes, Emma Soane. Drawing upon interview data from three case study organizations, we examine the role of middle managers in UK public service reform.
